About Our Theme

Our theme for this webinar is "Keep Your Eyes Fixed on Jesus." Fr. Levi Hartle will tell us why this is important and cover why it is a struggle for us to do this. He will review what this has always meant to followers of Jesus Christ. We have never had to do this alone. We have the Holy Spirit to support us and help us to do this always. Many say "I am not important, I am a sinner, God cannot do much with me." This is not true from the message that Jesus preached. The Father is concerned about every person who has ever lived and aware of everything in their lives. The Holy Spirit speaks to each one of us frequently. We need to open ourselves to receive what the Holy Spirit is saying to each of us. Most of us think that we are not important. Which is true from a "worldly" view, and Satan keeps reminding us of this. However, Jesus told us that we are very important to God -- Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is not "too busy to care about me or talk to me." Nothing is impossible with God, and this Universe would not exist if God did not have concern about every single thing in the Universe.

For this change in us and growth in us, Fr. Levi will lead us through prayer and adoration so that we are more open to the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Baptism means immersion - a soaking in the Holy Spirit. We need help in staying in the Spirit, and we ask the Spirit to keep us there.

In the last hour, Fr. Andrew Ibegbulem will lead us in prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and then pray for healing among us. You will be able to submit petitions during the webinar. We will explain how to do it before this part.

Fr. Levi Hartle,
Parochial Vicar/Consultant, Praise & Worship, Blessed Trinity Parish,
Pittsburgh, PA

Fr. Levi Hartle, ordained four years ago, is a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Before Fr. Levi was born, he was consecrated to the Lord by his mother. As a child, he was brought up in Christ and says that he "fell in love with Jesus during my teenage years." One day, as he was praising the Lord, he realized that he really meant the words he was singing. He really was in love with God! At the age of 18, God spoke clearly to him through one of the most profound prophetic words he has ever experienced, and from that day on, he knew he would serve God as his priest!

After Fr. Levi's calling to the priesthood, he went to college to study music so that he could use his musical gifts for the Lord as a priest. Directly after graduating from Grove City College with a degree in music education, he entered St. Paul Seminary in Pittsburgh. After receiving a Masters in Philosophy from Duquesne University, he entered Theological College and studied at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where he received Bachelor of Sacred Theology and Master of Divinity degrees. He says that he will be forever grateful for the education and formation that he received there.

During Fr. Levi's fifth year of formation, he was privileged to attend the Institute of Priestly Formation (IPF) in Omaha, Nebraska. This experience introduced him to Ignatian Spirituality and deepened his involvement and understanding of discernment. Inspired by a powerful encounter with Jesus Christ during IPF, he went on a 30 day Ignatian retreat right before his Diaconate ordination.

Fr. Levi says that ordination to the Diaconate was like getting married! On that day, Fr. Levi says that "I made a commitment to Christ and His Church, and they made a commitment to me. It was so beautiful." The next year when he was ordained a priest, he says that it was as if he received thousands of children all at once! He says that it was amazing and overwhelming at the same time!

As a priest, Fr. Levi's favorite activity is to bring the people of God into the life of the Trinity through the Sacraments! A close second, he says, is teaching people how to enter into the mystery of God through prayer, praise, and worship!

Fr. Levi shares that "Recently God has been increasing my faith and teaching me all about the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit! I look forward to sharing my experience of God with you!"

At the beginning of the Second Vatican Council, Blessed Pope John XXIII offered a prayer asking the Holy Spirit to "Renew your wonders in our time, as though for a new Pentecost." The rediscovery of the charismatic gifts by ordinary Catholics throughout the world was an answer to that prayer. Damian Stayne, who is known internationally for his healing ministry, shows readers how the spiritual gifts of prophecy, healing, and deliverance were used by Jesus, the early Church, and the saints-and why we need them operating in the Church today. He provides not only amazing stories of God's presence and work in our time but also a host of practical instructions on how to grow in these gifts. This book is both inspiring and a challenge to Catholics to be open to the gifts of the Spirit in order to bring others to Christ.

The Holy Spirit is the secret to the Church's growth and vitality-her "fountain of youth"! The Spirit is constantly renewing the Church, and the current age is no exception. In this book, theologian and author Dr. Alan Schreck writes a historical appreciation of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, now celebrating its fiftieth year-a renewal that has touched millions of Catholics throughout the world. Tracing the origins of the Renewal, Schreck outlines its characteristics, how it spread, what is meant by the baptism in the Holy Spirit, the charisms that are associated with it, and the communities that grew out of it. This book is for those who were involved in the Renewal and for those who want to know how the Spirit has moved so mightily in our own time and age.

Your Life in the Holy Spirit offers a popular and comprehensive explanation of the role of the Holy Spirit in the Christian life. In this book, a new edition of Hearts Aflame, best-selling author Alan Schreck presents the Spirit as the "friend closest to our heart," who leads us in prayer, directs our mind with truth, and makes us holy. Schreck shows how the Spirit equips us to draw others to Christ, build up the church, and generate unity among its members. Readers will learn how to renew their life in the Holy Spirit, understand and receive spiritual gifts, and grow in love, joy, peace, and other fruits that are the sign that the Spirit dwells in us.

"Alan Schreck writes as a close personal friend of the Holy Spirit who invites his readers to draw closer to the Spirit so that they can have a deeper relationship with him. I recommend this book to all Catholics who desire a greater understanding of the Holy Spirit as well as a more intense experience of the Spirit's power in their lives."
